Task

By the end of this WebQuest you will have learned how to navigate through Google Slides. You will be able to create your own slide show about yourself and share with others.

Process

1.Before we even open Google Slides, it is important to plan out the presentation. The presentation is about YOU and who you are. Things to consider are likes, dislikes, favourite foods, pets, movies, sports and hobbies. Once you have an idea on how you will organize your presentation, you can head to the next step.

2. Click the link to get started with Google Slides. You will already be logged into your Google account

3. To start your presentation click the blank box at the top left corner that says "Blank" You do have the option to choose a different template but for this WebQuest we will stick to the blank one.

4. The first page of your presentation will be your title page. When you are looking at the front page you will see a list of tabs at the top that say "Background, layout, theme, transition". Click the layout tab and it will give a few different options to choose from if you don't like the textbox placement.

5. To insert text you will click inside the textbook to type in whatever information you want to include. The first thing you should come up with is a title for your presentation and include your name somewhere on the page. When you click inside the textbox it also allows you to change font, font size and colours.

6. If you click the Background tab it will also give you the option to change your background colour or change it to a picture.

7. When you are finished with your title page, find the tab that reads "Slide." It is at the top of the page near the middle. Click on it then click "new slide". This will create a new slide so you can continue the rest of your presentation.

8. Adding images to your presentation can also be fun! Click "Insert" on the tab bar, followed by Image. You can choose to either add an image from the Internet, Google Drive, Camera etc... Once you've found the picture you can insert into your presentation.

9. Each slide will include something about yourself. Sports, hobbies, favourite food or anything that has to do with you...You will have to create a new slide for each topic.

10. By the end of your presentation you have at least 6 slides with information and visual aids.

11. Check the rubric to make sure you have included all the elements.

12. Share your presentation with your colleagues by clicking the "Present" button in the top right corner
