This web quest was designed for intermediate B2 level students. The goal of the web quest is to allow students to practice their usage of  the command / imperative and making suggestions in ESL. They will do this in a real life contextual way through exploring the topic of infectious diseases and looking at the corona virus that is currently affecting the world. This is a great activity that students can use to not only inform themselves but their families as well. Even though it is a web quest activity I have in cooperated the use of markers and pencils in order to allow students to bring out their creative side. Even though this is a collaboration activity students will be responsible for their individual contribution. this activity can be modified to suit all levels.

here are some ideas:

  • A1-2 can watch an educational cartoon video and state what it is about
  • c1-c2- can create a brochure on viruses
  • students can create news reports

caution !

ensure that students are familiar with vocabulary before proceeding with this task as advance vocabulary can make comprehension  difficult for even the best students.
