Infectious Disease

Introduction

Infectious diseases are illnesses that are caused by tiny living organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. These organisms are often called pathogens. When they enter the human body, they can grow, multiply, and interfere with normal body functions, leading to sickness. Infectious diseases can spread from one person to another, from animals to people, through contaminated food or water, or even through insect bites. Common examples include flu, malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.

In short, infectious diseases are health problems that are caused by germs, and they can be passed on in different ways if proper care and prevention are not followed.

Task

Examples of infectious Disease

Learn what infectious diseases are.

Identify common examples of infectious diseases.

Discover how they spread.

Explore ways to prevent and control them.

Share your learning through a short poster, song, story, or role-play.

Process

Discover: Watch a short video or listen to a story about how germs spread.

Discuss: In groups, talk about diseases you know that can spread between people.

Research: Use books, charts, and teacher’s notes to find:

What causes infectious diseases.

How they spread (air, water, contact, animals, etc.).

How to prevent them (handwashing, vaccination, covering mouth when sneezing, healthy eating).

Create: Work in groups to make a simple project (poster, drawing, short play, or song).

Present: Share your project with the class.https://youtu.be/8919Zm8Gi4U?si=lFcPSw8hw-J6g3kO

Evaluation

Teamwork: Did your group work well together?

Creativity: Did you use drawings, songs, or stories to share your ideas?

Presentation: Did you speak clearly and show effort? https://youtu.be/8919Zm8Gi4U?si=lFcPSw8hw-J6g3kO

Conclusion

Conclusion

We have learned that infectious diseases are illnesses that spread from one person to another. They can spread through the air, water, or direct contact. But we can protect ourselves by washing our hands, keeping clean, eating healthy food, and getting vaccinated. Staying safe helps our families, schools, and communities stay healthy.
