English is not phonetic language. A words is not always pronounced as it is written. Therefore, it is really hard to pronounce unfamiliar  words correctly;  this, sometimes, leads to misunderstanding.  IPA is really helpful for solving this problem. Moreover, there are many significant dimensions of English pronunciation that are needed to be learned and practiced in order to be fluent in speaking English.
