Introduction
In this world which requires us to be competent, there are times that we get tired and feel that we are not enough. But in reality, achievements and what others perceived us don't really define of who we are as a person. So it is very important to appreciate ourselves and be happy of who we are, despite of our imperfections. Self-esteem is confidence in one's own worth or abilities. It is worthy to take some time to think about improving our self-esteem.
Task
Each Student will be asked to;
1. Recognize the aspects of themselves that they don't like.
2. Letting other people see the good in them and appreciate of who they are.
3. Let them see the good in himself/herself and appreciate who they are.
Process
a. In this task, students will be working in pairs.
b. In a piece of paper, let a student write aspects of himself/herself that he/she doesn't like about.
c. After finishing writing, each pair of students will exchange the paper.
d. After reading the paper, the negative aspects that the student wrote about himself/herself, will be converted into positive ones by his/her pair.
e. Lastly, in a piece of paper, let a student write aspects of himself/herself that he/she like about.
Evaluation
After completing the previous activity, the class will be placed in groups of five (5) where each group will do a role play of what a person with a high self-esteem looks like.
Conclusion
Self-esteem is very important because it affects the decisions that we make everyday. It helps us not to break and give up but to bounce back from the challenges of life. It is one requirement to success because it requires us to be resilient, to be able to move forward and to see the positive side of life.
