The importance of learning and understanding vocabularies for students

Introduction

As the given definition of vocabulary which is an important focus of literacy teaching and it refers to the knowledge and words including their structure(morphology), use (grammar), meanings (semantics) and links to other words(word/semantic relationship). Vocabulary plays an important roles and its goal is to make everything possible when it comes to literary activities and written works. Learning and understanding new vocabularies helps the students compete globally. 

Task

To help students comprehend and use vocabulary words to understand their context. Students should obtain or make a list of vocabulary words and be able to demonstrate their understanding of each meaning. In this way students can somehow read fluently, understand the meaning of each word and gain a deeper understanding or insight. 

Process

In making a list of vocabulary and be able to demonstrate needs to follow certain basic steps in order to understand each words. There are six step on how to make a vocabulary list. 

1.keep your list short and sweet

2. Choose "meaty" words

3.include example sentences

4.use text-specific context whenever available

5.match definitions to context

6.check to make sure the words on your list are learnable. 

Evaluation

As a student you can evaluate your learning by asking another person the definition of the word so that they can select between multiple options of words for choosing the correct one and fill in the correct term. Another is use the word in a context because that's how you see the value of the words. Test your knowledge of vocabulary by using opposite words or antonyms so that you can fully understand the meaning of the words use in a context. 

Conclusion

Having a strong vocabulary allows you to communicate well with others and to compete globally. It is the most important skill when learning and teaching universal language. Reading, writing speaking and listening are best developed when you have strong vocabulary.
