Introduction
Welcome 3KC!
Today, you will be completing a WebQuest for our Virtual Field Trip, Amazing Animal Adaptations!
Illinois is home to many wild animals. Let's explore to find out more about the animals around us.
Task
Today, your job is to research an animal of your choice that lives in Illinois. You will work with a partner to complete the task:
1. Pick an animal that lives in Illinois.
2. Research at least 5 facts about the animal. Make sure to write your facts down in your Science notebook.
3. What is the animal's habitat? A habitat is where the animal lives!
4. Draw a picture of your animal and its habitat. On the back, write your 5 facts about the animal.
5. Have fun! We will be sharing our pictures during the virtual field trip.

1. Start with Habitats: Click the images to learn about the types of habitats in Illinois and around the world!
2. Next, move on to Birds (if you picked a bird as your animal): Complete the activity by dragging and dropping pictures to figure out each bird's diet and habitat.
- If the picture will not drag, it is not the correct diet or habitat.
- When you choose the correct pictures, you will learn facts about each bird and their habitat.
- Make sure to write down these facts. :)
3. Repeat step 2. for Mammals and Reptiles/ Amphibians if you picked one of these animals for your project.
If you are doing more research on your animal and its habitat, or if you do not have 5 facts, you can use these resources to search your animal:
