Introduction
A fable is a short story that teaches a moral, or a lesson.
Do you know of any fables?
What about the story of the Tortoise and the hare?
If you are unfamiliar with fables, this assignment will help you to build a better understanding.
Task
You will choose a partner and select a fable from a list provided to you. Once you have chosen and read a fable, you will recreate the story using a powerpoint presentation.

Process
You will be working in groups of two. Find a partner for this assignment.

Once you have chosen a fable, read it carefully. You will be creating a powerpoint presentation to retell the fable.
- Slide 1- Introduction/Cover page
- Your name, Title of the Fable, Date
- Slide 2- Summary of the fable
- Retell the fable using your own words
- Slide 3- Unknown words
- Write down any words you did not know when reading the fable. Use a dictionary to provide a definition for the word(s).
- Slide 4- Moral of the Fable
- What is the moral or the Fable? How did you come up with this answer?
Evaluation
After your slides have been presented, answer the following questions for the class:
- Did you enjoy this assignment?
- Was it difficult to find the moral of the fable?
- If it was difficult, how was it difficult? How could it have been easier?
- Did you like the fable you chose?
