Introduction
These alligators are hungry. They only like to eat the bigger number so they get full faster. Please help them decide what numbers to eat!
Task
The alligators said groups of 4 are the smartest, so you can work together with your pod on this one!
With your pod you will:
- Take turns answering the 12 greater than or less than comparisons provided on the board
Whichever group turns their paper in with the most correct answers gets to eat lunch with the teacher who'll bring ice pops on Friday!
If all groups tie or get all problems right, there will be an extra recess instead of math lesson on Friday after the ice pop lunch.
Process
After getting into your pods, the shortest person in the group will go and get a piece of paper and writing utensil before passing them off to the oldest group member to then continue in a clockwise rotation. The oldest member will then fold the paper in half to make two columns titled "Work" and "Answers".
What you'll record in the "Work" section:
- Write the comparison problem
- Fill in the missing less than < or greater than > symbol
What you'll record in the "Answer" section:
- The number of the problem
- The larger number
- Your initials
