Due to the unforeseen circumtances, you are now required to complete this task using this WebQuest.

You are required to watch the videos attached Videos 1 and 2

Video 1: The Urinary system

Video 1 relates to the Urinary system and with the aid of the video, you will be required to draw the urinary system and also indicate the labels and provide the functions of each part explained in the video. (14)

Video 2: Dissecting the kidney

With this video, you'll be required to answer some questions that relates to the kidney.

1. What is the function of the excess fat on the kidney? (1)

2. Name the vessels attached to the kidneys. (3)

3. How does one differentiate between the vessels? (3)

4. What apparatus can be used to cut the kidney in an experiment? (2)

5. Why would you say that the kidney is symmetrical? (1)

6. Why does the medulla have a darker red colour? (2)

7. What is the function of the pelvis? (2)

8. Identify the amount of renal pyramids in the kidney used in the video.(1)

9. What is the functional unit of the kidney?(1)

10. Draw the kidney in the video and provide labels. (8)

Process

Step 1: Access the two videos provided under the resources section.

Step 2: Make notes while watching the videos.

Step 3: Look at video 1 and draw the urinary system by providing labels, a suitable heading/ caption, and the functions below the respective labels e.g

Lungs

Remove CO2 from the body

Step 4: Look at the 2nd video again and use it to answer the questions under the section titled " Video 2: Dissecting the kidney".

Step 5: Draw the kidney presented in the video and provide the drawing with a suitable caption and labels.
