Introduction
In this Web Quest you will learn how to write a descriptive narrative.
Task
You will learn how to write a descriptive narrative and will practice writing one on your own.
Process
You will watch the video on how to write descriptively.
You will review this video on how to plan and write a narrative essay
You will write a narrative essay on the prompt: Write about a time you had to think fast to solve a problem.
You will complete the steps:
1
1. Decide what story you are going to tell
2. Make a plan including a beginning, middle and end
3. Plan beginning by identifying C- characters, S- setting, P- problem
4. Identify all possible solutions and failures that were attempted to solve the problem
5. Identify the solution: What you did to solve the problem
6. Open a new Word document
7. Type your first paragraph that includes the character, setting and problem
8. Type your first sentence by using action, dialogue, setting, or a sound
9. Type middle by using a strategy called "TIEFET" to organize it
10. Start with a transition, identify possible idea, Identify actions that took place, show failure as to why the idea did not work, show emotion, include another transition
11. Type the end using a strategy called TIEES- Start with a transition (a different transition), state your idea on how you will solve the problem, provide event actions, show the characters emotion and show the solution (how do you finally solve the problem).
Evaluation
Your narrative will then be reviewed and evaluated through the creation of a rubric.
Conclusion
After reviewing the videos you will have an understand on what a narrative is and how to write a narrative. You can then create your own narrative in Microsoft Word.
