"How to grow your own Plant"

Introduction

As you walk in a garden, you may wonder on how all of the plants that you see in every corner grow healthy and beautiful.

Do you want to try planting a healthy and beautiful plants?

This webquest will help you to learn about plants and how to grow your own plants .Have fun! 

Task

By the end of the webquest, you will be able to:

  • Define plants

  • Identify and list what all plants need to live

  • Demonstrate the steps in growing your own plant.

Read this poem first before you proceed to the process.

"Little Seed"

I plant a little seed

In the ground, 

Out comes the sun,

Big and round

Down come  the rain drops

Soft and slow

Up comes a flower,

Grow, grow, grow

Process

Step 1: Let's learn about what plant is.

Plants are trees, grass and flowers. Plants grow from a seed. A seed is the small, hard part of a plant from which a plant from which a plant grows. Not all plants grow from the same seeds. Seeds come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colours.

Step 2: Now, it's time to learn about what things plants need to live and grow healthy.

Plants are very important. Plants needs sunlight, water, soil and fertilizer to grow healthy and beautiful. Plants get light from the sun to make their own food. The light of the sun gives energy that enable plants to make food. Another is the water, it is  used for transpiration carrier of nutrients from the soil to green plant tissues. And the most important is the soil and fertilizer to keep your plant grow healthy and beautiful.

Step 3: Now you had learned a lot, so it's time for you to learn on how to grow your own plant. Are you ready?

These are the materials you need:

  • Pots with soil
  • Seeds
  • Water spray bottle
  • Plastic cup

Directions:

a) Place 2-4 seeds in a plastic cup, then fill the cup with a little water until the seeds are covered. Leave the plastic cup overnight.

b) Drain the water out of the plastic cup leaving the seeds in the cup and put the plastic cup in an area where there is a lot of sunlight.

c) In 3 days, check the seeds to see if there is any bud.

d) When the plants get an inch tall, place it in a pot with soil.

e) Place the plant in the area where there is sunlight.

f) Finish planting, what you must do now is to watch your plant grow and don't forget to water your plants.
