How to End America's Greatest Sin (Religion and Abolition in Antebellum America)

Introduction

As a prelude to our lecture, you will do some investigation about various topics pertaining to the abolition of slavery. This includes but is not limited to, the religious factors of Antebellum America following the 2nd Great Awakening.

This is due next Tuesday and will serve as the first Test Grade for T3 Grading Period. IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT FINISH THE LAST WEBQUEST, FINISH IT FIRST (All Grades will be entered for our previous Webquest and most other assignments by Friday November, 17.)

The rubric will be the same as our last rubric.

Task

"Now that you have investigated the biblical arguments of pro and anti slavery debaters, create an argument of your own FOR EACH based on what you have read. ONE PARAGRAPH for each and site your sources by number."

AND "How did religion and other social factors such as the women's movement impact the progress of abolition?"

C. On part C. of the process page you will find songs from the Abolition movement, listen to one and then analyze it for its meaning.  Why would music be such an important factor and how does the meaning of this song make you feel?
