President Kennedy's Domestic Policy

Introduction

President John F. Kennedy

President Kennedy stressed the need to move forward as a nation with vigour and determination in both foreign and domestic affairs. He spent the early part of his presidency focused on foreign affairs and the continuance of Cold War crises. But, by 1963, Kennedy shifted his focus to pressing issues at home. He focused on issues of poverty, the economy, civil rights and the space race.
