Introduction
Good morning young wizards! Hagrid here. You are receiving this message because there is one howler of a winter storm going on right now. Care of magical creatures is cancelled today because all of my hippogriffs have flown off to get away from the storm. But all of you can stay nice and warm in front of your common room fireplaces. I have a quest that each of you can do sitting in your favourite chair via the magic of the internet! Three of our most famous magical creatures - the unicorn, the phoenix, and the selkie - all have distant cousins from one island off the coast of Canada. Called Sable Island, it is a small and desolate place. In this quest you will gather information about the island and the 3 most famous animals that populate it. You will then create a scroll detailing your new knowledge.
Task
Here is your task:
You may draw or print your answers to the following questions on the scrolls provided.
Please answer the following questions about the island:
1.Tell me 2 ways that can you get to Sable Island (the muggle way)?
2.What are 3 interesting features of the island?
3.Why do people think it needs protection?
4.What is marine pollution (give one example)?
5.Describe each animal (wild horse, ipswich sparrow, grey seal) using the following 5 questions:
a)What colour is it?
b)What does it eat?
c)How does it move?
d)Why is it on, or does it come to, Sable Island?
e)Does it live there year round?
6.Which is your favourite animal and why?
