Number the Stars explores the historical events of the holoucast and the tremendous effects it had on the lives of young children. This fictional story explores many emotions that occured during this historical tragedy. It is imporant to study the events of our historical past. It is also very impotant to explore the reasoning behind Lois Lowry writing a book about such a mature subject for younger children.
