Introduction
Black History Month is celebrated every February. It rejoices victories, recognizes adversities and pays homage to heroes within the Black community. Each year spotlights a theme that relates to current events. To understand the importance of Black History Month, we explore its history and purpose.
Task
Students will:
1. Students will write Prewebquest knowledge on a google document
2. Students will read the article "Here's the story behind Black History Month - and why it's celebrated in February.
3. Student take notes and create flash cards using this link.
4. Students will watch a video about "the father of Black History"
5. Students will create a collage about "the father of Black History month"
6. Students will read about the reason for Black History month themes and the theme for 2022.
7. Students will take an online quiz to test knowledge.
8. Students will write Post webquest knowledge
Process
Follow the steps below:
1. Think about what you know about black history month and record your answer on a google document under Pre Webquest.
2. Read the article "Here's the story behind Black History Month - and why it's celebrated in February.
3. Click this link in order to write your notes to help remember key figures, locations, and dates.
4. First look at this video in order to learn about "the father of black history month"
Second click this link to create a collage of the "father of black history month" life. Use pictures from the internet.
Third save collage and email to me
5. Read about the reason for Black History month themes and the theme for 2022.
6. Take a quiz to test knowledge :)
7. Write postwebquest knowledge on that first document with the prewebquest knowledge
