Hispanic Speaking Countries. International Rally Scavenger Hunt

Introduction

Hello International Travelers and Welcome to the most amazing International Rally  Scavenger Hunt. Your quest is to arrive at “the Sacred Temple” and get the magic cup with a value of $1 billion gold coins, which translates in A+ (see the complete rubric in the rubric section). In order to get to the “Sacred Temple” you need to solve a puzzle by locating in the quest map the correct location of the 9 ancient ruins of the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas. Resolve the questions in the traveler journal and design the shortest way to get to those places by sorting in the map by distance from your point of origin. (Cleveland, Ohio). Each time you locate and virtually visit the site, the sacred guardian Quetzalcoatle will give you a virtual airline ticket to travel to the next one until you get to “The Sacred Temple”. Once you get to the sacred temple the sacred guardian will unlock the final puzzle. The first one who resolves it with 90% accuracy will get the prize.

 Good luck to everyone.

Let’s start the race.

Task

The task for students will be posted in the google slide “mystery clues” students will follow the following instructions.

  1. Students will have to resolve a puzzle by identifying the pictures of the ancient pre-Hispanic civilization in the map. They will use the biographies and links posted by the teacher to help them identify.

  2. Once they locate the picture in the map, they will write a report about what the archaeology site is, where it is located, who built it and 3 interesting facts about the pre-Hispanic culture. Once they finish the report and it is reviewed by the teacher, then, the teacher will unlock the following site to go and will give the students “virtual airplane tickets to travel to that country. Students will have to research the visa requirements to visit the country.

  3. After completing the 9 sites, students will trace a route to go to those sites and will unlock the sacred code to do the last challenge (which is a quiz of this unit in the form of a kahoot.)

  4. Students will do the kahoot and once they are done will unlock the virtual trophy. The challenge at this point is completed.

Conclusion

The civilization before the Spanish colonization was culturally rich and advanced, however, the Spanish also help to enrich the mix culture that was created during the Spanish colonization. Type what do you think it would happened if the Spanish would never colonize the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans.
