American Law v.s. Roman Law

Have you ever thought about the freedom we have as Americans? You probably have, considering every fourth of July we sing ,"Proud To Be An American." We are truly blessed by having freedom of speech, religion, etc. But today, we will be finding out what inspired this freedom in our country! Believe it or not, it actually was inspired by Roman Laws! We will be comparing American Law and Roman Law. In doing this, we will clearly see just how similar we are! Join me as we find out more about the system of justice in Rome!!!

Task

What To Do:

You will be scowering the web to find out how Rome inspired America! You will be looking up several websites that will be provided in links. In these websites you will find Roman Laws and American Laws, and you will be comparing them in a two paragraph essay. The first paragraph will be about Rome and how there system of justice displayed equality. The second paragraph will be about American Law and how it was inspired by Rome. You got it? Good! Let's go!

and read paragraphs 1-3.

Step 2: 

Look up 

Contributions of Rome

and read the whole article.

*remember we are comparing Rome's law contribution to America*

Step 3:

Write down notes from each article and articulate them into two paragraphs. 

Evaluation

What Is Required:

-Each paragraph must be 5-7 sentences long (or longer)

-Must be MLA style paper- if it isn't, it will not be accepted

-Must be Times New Roman and 12 font

- Grammar does count- 2 pts off each mistake

-MUST BE TYPED

Remember, you are comparing the two (America and Rome.) You will be explaining Rome's influence on America in two paragraphs. MLA style is required for this paper including page number, name, date, teacher, class, etc. The paper is typed and not written. Now go and hunt for the answers!!! I'M HUNTING FOR WABBITS!!!
