Introduction
Nowadays the worldwide consumers want more and more from their meals: more naturality, more health, more sustainability, and more taste. The addition of an aromatic plant or herb gives a distinctive flavor to your dishes while releasing its beneficial properties for the body. Moreover, the use of herbs is necessary especially in barbeque since according to surveys, it blocks carcinogenic compounds formed by high temperatures
Task
Aromatic herbs are used in small quantities. Therefore the need to keep in good condition the unused ones. Your task is to find a lot of information in order to know which herb fits on each food, when you can add them in your cooking and how you have to preserve them so to be able to add flavor and taste on your dishes in order to convince a hesitant customer to try your dishes!!
Process
Step one
Students will join a MENTIMETER presentation using their smartphones (by entering a given code at menti.com) and will input their answers to the following questions:
What is the meaning of herbs and spices ?
What's the difference between herbs and spices?
Why it is important to add herbs in your dishes?
Then we'll discuss the opinions. After we'll ask students to watch the following video and complete the list of herbs and spices (worksheet1: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kdPNAAftbFiWg3-KmjfNc2mfZSxcLbZSUE-3DT1XSHU/edit?usp=sharing) by adding those mentioned to the video and some other they know and use to their dishes.
Step two
How do we know which herb fits in each dish? How do we use them in our cooking?
Students, divided into teams, will search the internet in order to fill the shared presentation, with information on the uses of each herb they have added to their lists, pairing them with some food.

Step three
Herbs' preservation
Using the PowerPoint presentation (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1kC-l4kO93yW9knsTFw3Sn_10-p8auQckjUz1LkqTCJ4/edit?usp=sharing) we'll discuss on their preservation. At the end of the presentation there is a video that students have to watch and then they will describe each method used for basil's preservation in one paragraph.

Students, by using easely.ly (https://www.easel.ly/) are visualizing all their information.to an infographic.

Conclusion
The web quest is designed to develop critical thinking skills in children. This web quest teaches students about the herbs and their uses on cooking and their preservation methods.
