Healthy Food Choices

Introduction

This WebQuest is focusing on healthy food choices for a healthy lifestyle. After reading the introduction, you will be asked to create what you think is a healthy plate for dinner based off of information provided. 

INTRODUCTION: 

   Everyday life can sometimes get in the way of healthy decisions but making an effort to eat healthy when you have the chance can be benificial to your overall health. Does your Mom make you breakfast before you go to school? Do you skip breakfast and run out the door? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When you eat breakfast, your belly gets energy for the whole day to geth you through your tough school day. This kick starts your metabolism to help burn calories consumed throughout the day. 

Task

Task: 

  Visit provided links to research more about the effects of our everyday food choices. From your findings and understandings, make two plates of food on the link provided one with healthy choices and one with poor choices. Along with each plate, write a brief paragraph on why those foods are either healthy or poor food choices. Include some terms you see while reading the provided links. 

Process

  Step One: Visit the following links and read more about the different variety of healthy foods from fruits and vegtables to meats and poultry. After searching for your favorite foods from different food groups, make your own healthy plate using your chosen foods. 

Step Two: Visit the following links and read more about unhealthy food choices and choose your favorite bad food choices. Once you've chosen your favorite bad foods, make your own bad choice plate using your choice of foods. 

Step Three: Comparing your two plates, write a brief paragraph on the benifits or harmful effects of eating that plate. Some things to include could be vitamines, minerals, sugars, natural sugars, minerals, sodium intake and fullness.
