Group 3 ; WebQuest

Hello everyone! 

In this WebQuest, we will discuss about topic "Food" with the method task based learning language. Students will learn English language with the tasks given and focusing more on Simple, Compound and Complex sentences. It is including 3 skills in English language which speaking, writing, and reading. All of the activities are very easy to follow and don't get yourself headache. Just enjoy and follow the instruction.

There are four activities those the students will have to do.

Make sure all of you have a laptop or computer or mobile phone or tablet with internet connection to complete all of the tasks.

Task 1

All students need to find the pictures based on this list of foods from the Google Image.

(1) Nasi Lemak

(2) Rendang

(3) Hokkien Mee

(4) Laksa Sarawak

(5) Chapati

(6) Biryani

(7) Ngiu Chap

Task 2 

Based on task 1, please select 3 types of food and make a simple, compound and complex sentence for each foods.

Example : Pizza

(1) Simple sentence

(2) Compound sentence 

(3) Complex sentence

Task 3

With the same list, please find out the main ingredients for all of the foods (2 or 3 ingredients for each food) and categorize the foods based on (Malay, Chinese, Indian, Sabahan or Sarawakian)

Example ; Pizza (Dough and ground beef, Italian food)

Task 4

Please present your work in front of the class.

1. The students will be divide to 4 - 5 people per group.
2. Discussion will be in 15 - 20 minutes for Task 1 - 3.
3. We will give you another 10 minutes to put your answer in Microsoft Powerpoint or Canva. Just do a simple slides for presentation.
4. For presentation, all of the members will present what have been they discuss in their group.

Your completed WebQuest will be individually assessed and evaluated based on:

Task 1 : You find the correct picture for each foods.

Task 2 : Good sentences with correct grammar and bombastic words.

Task 3 : You find the correct ingredients for each foods and you can categorize the food based on the (race or Sabahan or Sarawakian food).

Task 4 : Present with confident and the way you talk are in good way.

Congratulations, students! You've successfully completed all of your tasks. Continue to explore the knowledge about English without any doubts because it is a requirement to write and speak in English in the best as we can. Simple, compound and complex sentences are very important for us on how to arrange our way to write or speak. Besides, all of you will learn more about general knowledge about Malaysian food. There are so delicious and you have to give a try.
