The Great War started because of an assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. After that Kaiser Wilhelm II promised that German would support Austria against Serbia. About 3 weeks later Austria declared war on Serbia. Later Germany declared war on Russia and France and invited Belgium. Britain helped and declared war on Germany. Turkey entered the war on Germany’s side. On April 6th 1917 USA declared war on Germany. All the countries fought and they didn’t win anything after a fight of 4 years and 3 months they stopped fighting.
