The Great Gatsby takes place during the summer of 1922, this time period is considered the Roaring 20's or the Jazz Age. In this assignment, the class will discover ways the American Dream was affected during this time period and how the setting helps understanding the characters, develop the plot, and contributing to the atmosphere.  

Task

The class will be split into groups of 4, and pick a topic to research about. The information gathered will put on a power point and presented to the class. 

Topic: Culture

            Music

            Social Issues

            Life before WWI and after WWI

After completing the research on the Roaring 20's, the group is expected to explain how society has changed from then and now, and how the American Dream has changed throughout the 20's.

The goal is to have the students build a PowerPoint to have an understand how people in the Roaring 20's lived.
