Read the advertisement and follow the instructions below.

Sew&So is looking for a dynamic, dilligent and responsbile individual to work part-time over weekneds and school holidays as a sales clerk in our store.

TASK INSTRUCTIONS 

Write a letter of application in response to the advertisement above. In your cover letter motivate why Sew&So should employ you as a sales clerk.                                                                                                                                          (20)

  • Use Microsoft Word to write your cover letter. 
  • Your cover letter must be between 250-300 words. 
  • Include a cover page with your name & surname, subject, class code, assignment topic: 'Transactional Writing: Cover Letter' and the due date.

Use the rubric below as a guideline when writing your cover letter to ensure you obtain maximum marks.

Section 1: Introduction

This letter uses correct business format with date and addresses at the top,

and a signature at the bottom. This letter is clear and concise, and grammatically correct.

While its content is decent, this letter does not convince an employer to call.

Identification of skills and 

experiences

as related to position

 

This section identifies the position for which you are applying and explains why you are interested in the job. You have described how you heard about the opening.

This letter refers the reader to your resume or any other enclosed documents.
