Good day grade 8's today's topic will be based on The economy but we will dual more on Government to be specific.
Tell me what goes to your mind when we talk about government?
The word government has a number of meanings,depending on how it is used. Mostly people see the government as a group of people who run the country.
In economics the word government is used to describe one of the three role players in the economy. The other two are business and households.Government is responsible for running the country by making policies and passing laws that affect how the country is managed.

Process
Three different levels of government
National level
The top level of government is called the national government. Sometimes it is referred to as the central government because it makes laws that affect the whole country.
for example the president is the head of the state and leads the executive arm of government, which means that he or she is the country's leader
Provincial level
The second level of government is the provincial level.Each of South Africa's nine provinces has its own provincial government that looks after its own affairs,but it reports to the national government.
for example provincial government has its own structure like ministers and MEC
Local level
Local government run Local affairs according to the laws made by national and provincial government. These Local affairs includes services such as water supply, sanitation and maintenance Local roads.
