Quality is an important aspect of businesses. Without quality within a business’s products, the business will not be a success as it will attract fewer customers. How do we know when products are quality? We all have different perspectives on quality. Take a look at the following task to help broaden your knowledge of quality.

Before you continue, watch the video below by Ms. Isaacs:

Conclusion

Thank you to every learner who has completed this task. I am proud to say that most of you have done extremely well. I trust that your understanding of this task will help you choose wisely when buying a product. Use your understanding of quality before buying a product. In addition, you will be able to open a successful business one day using your knowledge of “quality” and “quality products” as well as the importance of quality for businesses.

I am pleased with the different perspectives and pictures relating to quality that the learners were able to come up with.

In our next topic, we will focus on quality concepts. Refer to your notes in your notebook on quality concepts to refresh your memories and prepare for our next lesson. To further understand quality concepts, read pages 356-358 in your business textbook in preparation for our discussion next week.

NOTE: For future purposes, it is very important for me as your teacher to reflect on your perspectives on this task. Please think about the following questions:

  1. What was interesting about this task?
  2. What were the challenges you experienced while doing this task?
  3. Did you find researching difficult? If yes, why? If not, why?
  4. What do you think could have been done to improve the task? (More resources?/More information on the content? etc)
  5. Do you think you gained a better knowledge of quality? If not, why? If yes, why?

For future study:

  • Practice using your own words, save the link provided above to help you in future tasks
  • Practice distinguishing between things
  • Follow the links step by step and listen carefully to the instructions to avoid silly mistakes

Teacher Page

I would advise teachers to use this website known as WebQuest to create tasks, projects, or assignments for their learners’ as this website breaks down a task thoroughly. The learners get a broader understanding of the task they are expected to do as they can click on links to help them understand better. They are more motivated and it challenges the learners’ critical thinking skills. Learners also learn independently or in groups using their own understanding by going through WebQuest to do their tasks. WebQuest also provides teachers with a good understanding of the learners' level of knowledge after marking the learners’ tasks.

WebQuests can be used for any subject and any topic. Decide which topic or subject is suitable for you.

Using WebQuest, firstly, make sure you understand what it is about and familiarise yourself with the components of WebQuest.
