Read Recognizing Inferences on pages 368-369 of your textbook.  Then, answer the following questions:

1.   How do context clues help you infer information?

2.  What does it mean to "read between the lines"?

Process

1.  Read MAKING INFERENCES FROM VISUAL CLUES on page 369, and then look at the picture at the bottom of the page. Circle the inferences you can make based on the clues in the picture.


 2.  Complete Exercise 2 on pages 370-371


3.  Exercise 3 on page 372 - 373:  Read paragraph 1 and think about why statements (a.) and (d.) are the only reasonable inferences that can be made. 


4.  We will complete paragraph 1 together.
