Getting to know your classmates

Introduction

Getting to know each other, one of the best ways to get over stage fright is getting to know you audience. This activity will help you be able to connect with your classmates and also help you prepare for your persuasion speech. 

 

Task

Purpose of the activity is getting to know you classmates

Instructions: Each student will have 1 minutes to write down 2 fact and 1 lies its up to the class to determine which ones fact was the truth and which one was the lie. This will be a fun way to break the ice and a way for each student to get to learn something new about their classmates 

**This workshop day is fun but it also important to know the person that sit behind you or beside you**

Process

After the activity you should be able to 

1. Identify 5 of your new classmate.

2. Be able to write down the new fact you learn from those classmates.

3.Take the time and find 2 new student and ask them a question 

4.After completing these 3 tasks, you are to write a one paragraph short essay about you experience, tell me what you have learned and do you think this workshop was helpful?

Participation  Student was not prepared and was not focused on the activity. Student was slightly prepared but seemed uninterested. Actively participated in the activity, seemed interested in the activity.  
Being able to identify 5 classmates  Student could only listed only one students. Student could list about 3 students. Student was a to list all 5 student that the assignment required.  
Shorts Essay  A number of spelling errors and punctuation. Student did not not understand the purpose of the activity. A few spelling a punctuation errors. Student got a good understanding of the activity. No spelling of punctuation errors. Students understood the activity, and got new knowledge from the assignment.

Conclusion

After a full day of learning something new about you classmates, it should be a little bit easier to be able to speak in front of you classmates without having stage fright or being nervous.
