Geographic Regions of Georgia by Kimberly Monk

Introduction

You have a cousin who has never been to Georgia coming to visit you! Your cousin asked you about the geographic regions of Georgia. Your cousin is the same age as you, an eighth-grader. You can make a PowerPoint, a travel brochure, a poster, or a picture book. If you think of another way you present the regions, please let me know!

Task

Your task is to name each geographical region of Georgia. Each region must have at least five facts, a description of one major landmark, a picture of the region, and something fun you can do there. As mentioned earlier, you can do a PowerPoint, travel brochure, a poster, a short book, or any other way you want to present. A rubric will be provided below. This will help you with the standard SS8G1b.

Process

As a class, we have discussed the five geographic regions of Georgia. We also discussed facts about the regions, some of the major landmarks, showed pictures, and some recreational activities each region has to offer.

Step 1: Put your name somewhere on the project. If there is no name on the project, I have no way of grading the project. Please put your name on this!

Step 2 - 6: Discuss each region. I do not care what order the regions are in, as long as you talk about each one. I would advise to write each region down and mark it off when you have talked about it. This will help prevent you from talking about the same region twice.

Step 7: Make sure your name is on the project. Be sure you are satisfied with the finished product. Double check your name is on the project.

Step 8: Turn it in, or email it to me.

While this is a single person project, you may talk among each other about the regions. You never know, a classmate may have done a  fun activity we did not discuss in class. You may have forgotten something about a region and a classmate may remember. Each person will turn their own project in, but you can talk to each other about the regions.
