Students will be exposed to the functions and responsibilities of management and  why these functions are  important  in a business and should be  utilized by management;  as well as management responsibilities to owners, customers and employees.

  1. You will be placed into groups of four. Each group will conduct researches on the functions of management as well as their responsibilities to owners and employees.
  2. You are required to do a presentation; this must be a role play on the functions of management and a PowerPoint presentation explaining the responsibilities and roles of a manager to owners, customers and employees.
  3. Discussions will be made about the presentations carried out by the groups

1.       You are to  expected to be in groups of four. Two persons will research on the functions of management and the other two will conduct a research on the responsibilities of  management. You are required to search the internet by using the URL Google search engine where you will find a wide range of information on the functions and responsibilities of management.

 2.You and your partners will select information from the first three range of definitions that pop up on the website; then scan through all three and use the most appropriate information to carry out your task.

 3. You as well as your group members are expected to take part in  carrying out researches; then deciding on what information is most relevant for your  task.

 4. You and your partners are already exposed to these term in the webquest Planning, Organizing, Controlling and Leading.

 5. You and your partners  will do a 30 minutes presentation  before your classmates.  It should be a role play on the functions of a management  and should last for 20 minutes, then a powerpoint presentation for 10 minutes explaining the responsibilities of management.

 6.You are required to do peers assessment after all groups have completed their presentation. In addition you are expected to do a self assessment of your presentation stating positive and negative points and what you could have done differently in order to bring across tasks more effectively.

 Now that you  understand the functions and roles of management you will  now realize it was a myth when people would say managers just sat in their office all day doing nothing and collecting a big salary at the end of the month. If you decide to become part of  a management team  someday; you have encountered  a wide range of knowledge that you can  utilize  in order to be a good manager.

This webquest is about the functions and responsibilities of management. It will take the students about 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete this project in class. Therefore the teacher would need to have at least two classes with the students in order to complete the webquest or allow the students to do a part of the webquest on their own.
