Introduction

Time Frame: 30 minutes
Wow! That cat has on a hat! I wonder if he knows how to bat while standing on a mat! Do those words sound kind of funny to you? They all sound the same don't they? Well those are called rhyming words and today we're going to learn about them.
Task
Students will be introduced to what rhyming is. They'll learn the concept of rhyming and how to match rhyming words. The students will listen to a song introducing rhyming.
They will then play a rhyming game to help them to better understand what rhyming is. They will then use quizlet to help them learn the content a bit more before playing a Kahoot game. They will be put into teams, the teams will play a Kahoot game using pictures to tell if the two pictures rhyme together.
After the Kahoot game, the students who got the most points will be given time in the reading nook. The students will be using chrome books and tablets to do their games with assistance if needed.
The objective of this lesson is to teach students how to differentiate and identify rhyming pairs.

Evaluation
While you are going through this lesson, you will be graded throughout.
Identification- How well you identify the rhyming pairs in the online games.
Participation- Helping your peers in the game of Kahoot. Speaking with your peers on your opinion and not letting them do all of the work.
Being on Task- Paying attention to the videos that are being played, playing the games to better understand, and studying the content that is provided.
