You have a new WebQuest to prepare!

You were studying French since Grade 3 and now you’re going to teach it to Grade 5. Are you ready to design a website for teaching French to a lower grade? If yes, then let’s begun!

Task

The following task will be a project that you're going to work on for the last month of the academic year. It will gather all your knowledge of the French language. You will need to follow the below steps to fulfil your task.

  1. Define the topic of your website;
  2. Plan and design your website using the template you choose;
  3. Create new pages according to what is required in the process;
  4. Introduce your resources in the website pages;
  5. Add your e-lessons to the website;
  6. Send the URL of your website to the teacher every Sunday for feedback.

The 3 top websites will be classified as resource websites in the school portal.

Process

To achieve your task, you will be required to accomplish the following steps:

  1. You will be working individually on this project;
  2. You will need to create lessons covering the basic topics given in grade 5: numbers, colours, the city, greeting and the basic verbs ('to be' and 'to have');
  3. Choose a specific topic through which you're going to build on your lessons: tourism, shopping, sports, French festivals, gastronomy...etc. (choose from the topics shown at the end of this page);
  4. Design a website in French using https://www.wix.com. You will have to log in with your school e-mail using the password of the school portal;
  5. Upload photos, links or videos or URLs to empower your website and lessons;
  6. Take extra IT lessons with Mr. Comp -if needed- to learn how to manipulate your template website and choose the right design for the right topic. The IT lessons will be given to the students in the same timing of French class.
  7. The website should have the following pages: introduction, glossary, lessons (at least 3 lessons), videos, one (01) photo gallery and references page
  8. The website URL must be sent to the French teacher's school e-mail every Sunday for guiding and updating the job process.
  9. The website design and topic level must be adequate with grade 5 level and using colours and fun videos are some ways to communicate fun learning.
