In this WebQuest, we will discuss the food preservation methods. This is the process you use to prepare food for safe, long- term storage. Food preservation consists of the application of science-based knowledged through a variety of available technologies and procedures to prevent deterioration and spoilage of food products and extend their shelf-life.

By the end of this activity,students will be able to identify the different methods of food preservation and explain the importance of it.Science Direct: Food spoilage microorganism,2006. Defind as the process of treating and handling food in such a way as to stop or greatly slow down spoilage and prevent foodborne illness while maintaining nutritional value, texture, and flavor.

Student will work in group to present througj video presentation. Each group will be given what method they will be using in food preservation.
The project will include:
> A brief description of the method used in preserving food.
> In the video, must include the steps in method of food preservation.
> A member should present and tell what step does the groupmate is doing.
> Include what are the importance of the method of foodpreservation assigned to the group.

First, groups students into 3 and let each grouo use the method of preserving food: Pickling, Fermentation, and Sugaring

2. Create an outline to organize information step by step of the method of food preservation before taking video.
3. Include importance and benefits of method food preservation assigned to the group.
4. Video should not exceed to 15 minutes.

4 points- The presentation includes all information relevant to the topic in an organized fashion.
3 points-Presentation includes all relevant information,but it is not well- organized.
2 points- There is not enough information presented. Information is presented in an unorganized fashion
1 point- The presentation is lacking in required elements. There are many gaps in information presented.
Work Quality and Effort
4 points- The work done exceeds expectations. Maximum effort was put into the video presentation.
3 points- The work was done with good effort that shows what the student capable of. It is evident that the group put effort into the presentation.
2 points- Work is done with fair effort,but the quality is still not what the group is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.
1 point- Work is done with little effort,quality is not what the students are capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent ont he final product. Work is incomplete.
Presentation
4 points- The students speak clearly and deliver it nicely. It is evident that the grouo practiced and made effort.
3 points- The students speak clearly and present the information expected. The video is adequate.
2 points- There are several confusing moments and the information presented is not completely shared during the presentation. It is obvious the group did not rehearse.
1 points- No preparation done for the presentatikn. Informations are lacking.
