Introduction

PBL: How can we tell what food is in each can if all the labels were torn off?
Standard: SKCS1. Students will be aware of the importance of curiosity, honesty, openness, and skepticism in science and will exhibit these traits in their own efforts to understand how the world works.
a. Raise questions about the world around you and be willing to seek answers to some of the questions by making careful observations (5 senses) and trying things out.
Task

Students will explore how their bodies receive information through their senses, name their five senses, and give examples of each.
~ I used my tongue to taste morning snack
~ I used my hands to touch the rabbit's fur
~ I used my ears to hear the gym teachers whistle
~ I used my eyes to see the stop and go lights on the way to school
~ I used my nose to smell lunch cooking
Process
Students will use their senses to figure out what type of food is in the cans of food. Instead of using sight for every can, there will be times where the students are blindfolded, and have to rely on their ability to taste, smell, and touch.
Below you will find two different websites where you will find information on different cans of food. Use this information to determine what food is in each can based on what you gathered using your senses.

Evaluation
