The Fitness Architect

Introduction

You’ve recently been hired as the Head Fitness Consultant for an initiative in the community! It is clear to the city council that the kids from the middle schools are unable to maintain an active lifestyle without the help of fitness professionals who can help them design a safe training regimen.

Your primary responsibility will be to examine all the available information related to your audience, understand more about the science of physical activities, and design an engaging fitness program that will help them become successful athletes!

Task

Working in teams of 3, you will be able to explore the elements of fitness and the scientific concepts associated with conditioning.

Your Team’s Deliverables The Fitness Blueprint: Prepare a digital presentation on various aspects of training in Google Slides.

Shaped WordArt Visual: Create a shape-based WordArt that includes vocabulary used in training. The WordArt should be based on an object from a fitness center and must have a link to a professional article or resource.

The Peer Fitness Pitch: Present your training plan to the class.
 

Process

To accomplish the mission, your group needs to divide, conquer, and work together. Here’s how you need to do that:
 
Step 1: Assign Consultant Specialist Roles. Each team member will choose one of these three specialist roles:

Step 2: Conduct Your Research. Use the following resources to complete your specific role's guiding worksheet.

Step 3: Synthesis and Vocabulary. Come back together with your team to synthesize the information gathered. Launch WordArt.com to build your team visual. Your word cloud must meet these parameters:

  • Must include at least 15 technical terms gathered from your reading (e.g., hypertrophy, stroke volume, progressive overload, duration).
  • The overall visual must be rendered into a shape that matches your assigned fitness focus (e.g., a heart, a barbell, or a running shoe).
  • You must embed a hyperlink inside the largest word that points directly to a high-quality video demonstrating a proper exercise technique for your fitness domain.

Step 4: Presentation. Make your presentation to the class detailing why your fitness plan is scientifically accurate and how your word cloud represents core training concepts.

You just have to keep applying F.I.T.T. principles to your workout regimen and remain digitally literate for the betterment of the community!
