Title: Farming for Sight Words

Description: This lesson is appropriate for children who are between the ages of 6 and 7. In this lesson, students will learn how to identify selected sight words. They will learn how to read words, pronunciate, and spell the words. Students will be able to recognize sight words and use them in a sentence.

Introduction: Everyone loves to eat fruits and vegetables. They are delicious and good for your body! In this sight words activity, we will explore the many different fruits and vegetables out there and also learn new sight words along the way. 

Hey there boys and girls! Are you ready to be a sight word farmer? You will be harvesting sight words from a garden. The garden will include different websites for you to explore. Follow the directions on each of the websites from the garden and let's see how many sight words you can find. 

Farmers, use the sight word garden below to start picking your sight words:

1. Click on the Adapted Mind website.

      a.) Complete lessons 1 and 2.

      b.) Make sure to click the audio button in the top left-hand corner to hear the correct pronunciation of each sight word given.

      c.) Then complete the sentence using the sight word. 

2. Click on the Fun to the Brain website.

    a.) Click on the start button and read the directions given before starting the game.

    b.) Pick levels 1, 2, or 3 depending on how well you know your sight words. ( 1 = Easy  2= Medium  3= Hard ) 

3. Click on the Sight Words Game website.

    a.) Match the sight words to pair them up.

    b.) Once you have matched all the sight words given, you can move onto the next round.
