Introduction
We are about to embark an amazing journey through out literature! We are going to learn about three great English writers, Edgar Allan Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. In order to understand The Murder in the Rue Morgue , The Speckled Band and Murder on the Orient Express, it is very important to learn about these three authors and the characteristics of the mystery genre. How are we going to do this? we are going to watch videos, a movie, read, solve, quizzes and above all ENJOY!

Task
You will have to work in a group each group will consist of three students, some activities will be done by all the groups.
Group 1: You will have to solve task 1, watch some videos and write about Edgar Allan Poe's life.
Group 2: You will have to read about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle' s life and solve the quiz and write a short biography.
Group 3: You will have to watch read 75 facts about Agatha Christie and take notes about the most important ones.
Process
1) Group 1: Watch the following videos about Edgar's life. Then write a short biography with the most relevant information. You will have to use this later. It should be no longer than 100 words.

2) Group 1, 2 and 3: After reading The Murder in the Rue Morgue solve the following quiz.

4) Group 3: Read 75 facts about Agatha Christie and write a short paraghraph about her. http://www.agathachristie.com/about-christie/christie-experts/john-curran-75-facts-about-christie
5) Group 1, 2 and 3: You will have to complete a chart about the three detectives: August Dupin, Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. You will have to include a short descrioption of them, similarities and differences about them. And your personal opinion abouot your favouroite.

6) Group 1, 2 and 3: Let's compare the stories, in this activity you will only have to compare The Murder in the Rue Morgue and The Speckled Band.
7) Group 1, 2 and 3: What is a detective novel? https://www.britannica.com/art/detective-story-narrative-genre . After reading, create a CMAP with the most important information.
8) Group 1, 2 and 3: Each group will have to creat a digital poster using Gloster in which they will have to write a book review. You can help yourself with the Portfolio 10 page 89 from the student's book. In this poster you will also include all you have learn in this webquest.
9) Final Task: Each group will have to do an oral presentation about one of the writers and his/her detective.
Evaluation
Each student, within their group, will grade their group members.
As a group:
Groups will be awarded points on how they work together in class and in the oral presentation.
