| Lord Byron Diet |
In the 1820's Lord Byron invented a diet that became very popular. The diet consisted of only eating Potatoes drenched in vinegar. It helped people lose weight and have plenty of carbohydrates, however it was very unhealthy as it made people very ill, thin and pale due to the lacking of iron, protein and vitamins but people didn't care as it was considered "attractive" back then. |

|
The Grapefruit Diet (also known as the Hollywood diet) became very popular in the 1930's. This diet meant eating half a grapefruit before each meal (3 meals a day) and no snacks. The grapefruit diet is healthy due to the amount of enzymes it contains, that when eaten before meals, can help people lose weight. |

This craze made food that included acai berries very popular such as acai bowls and acai smoothies. The craze became so popular that the Brazilians were running low of their beloved fruit with all the orders coming in. The craze is actually very healthy due to the amount of Antioxidants and Fibre that makes the acai berries very good for heart health |
| Cyro-Therapy | Cyro-Therapy is still a popular trend today, especially with athletes and celebrities. Cyro-Therapy consists of someone being placed in a Cyro-chamber that has a temperature of -152 degrees celcius, for approximately 3 minutes. Cyro-Therapy is said to be good for injuries, sleep, depression and because it also draws blood to where it's needed in the body. However it is also very dangerous. A man from the United States died in one due to suffocation, they have even frozen athletes toes, then making them unable to compete again. |
| The Charcoal Craze | The Charcoal Craze mostly started with a charcoal burger, then it went to pizza, ice-cream, toothpaste and before you knew it, it was a huge craze on social media. It is claimed to help clean out bacteria in your liver and that it absorbs toxins. However there is also no evidence, and that this kind of detoxing doesn't work. |

Credits
In completing these various tasks I learned that most health fads are to change something someone is unhappy with in their body and are just being used for people to become wealthy. I found that some fads were minor and I found some were major and extremely dangerous.
I also learned that the companies and businesses get people to try the health fads by advertising with a celebrity or " telling" them there is a problem with their body. This then makes people want to change their body or be like the celebrity, then creating an addiction or a bad habit.
To make the strategy better for good health outcomes in a fad that work over a long term people could have a break from the fad for a week after a certain amount of time. This could help to reduce the chance of the person getting an addiction to the fad.
