Welcome!
As you may know, I am thrilled to be working on this Poetry mini-unit. Poems capture the human experience in unique, subtle ways: Voices in rhythm open our eyes and hearts to unexpected, yet well-known truths.
To unlock a verse's meaning, we need tools that this digital exploration seeks to provide.
Task
Objective 1: Analyze a poem by focusing on specific elements and themes.
Objective 2: Explore various forms of poetry to serve as inspiration for your own writing.
Process
What? Read each type of poem as well as the resources provided to successfully complete the handout assigned under "Classwork" on Classroom.
How? Read the article, discuss it, get background information, discuss it, think about the elements, and write complete responses. Each number corresponds to each resource. Resources are first overviews and then examples.
Why? Exposure, variety, inspiration...the human experience :)
