Introduction

Greetings, budding biologists!

Time to put on the scientist’s hat and take a closer look at the mysteries of life that dwells on our planet. Sometimes, you ask yourself how every thing actually develops, whether it is a large animal, or a single-celled organism that cannot be seen through a regular microscope. In this Webquest, you will go through a fun filled mission to learn about different living organisms, where they live and what are their roles in the given ecosystem. It will be followed presentation of your discoveries in the classroom.

Task

Prepare a detailed presentation on any one living organism. Study its habitat, adaptations, role in the ecosystem, its food, etc. You will be working in groups so that you can find interesting and useful facts about the animal. You will then share your summary and presentation in class.

Process

Process:



1. Group Work: Group yourselves into 3-4. Discuss and select one living organism that you will research on.



2. Research: Brainstorm and delegate each member to gather information for the chosen organism. Include all relevant information about its habitat, its food, how it adapts to its environments and role in the ecosystem. There is no limit with regards to the interesting facts about the chosen living organism. Include all the website links of your references at the end of your presentation. You may use other references other than the listed in the Reference section.



3. Create a presentation: For your multimedia presentation creation, please, use the PowerPoint, Prezi, or another tool that meets your demands in video editing. Make sure that all the needed section are provided and everything looks presentable, eye catching and will capture the interest of the whole class.



4. Prepare Summary: Write a short script of what you would say to your class about your findings and discoveries

5. Present your findings in class clearly and with confidence.

  • Presentation content is correct and there is detailed information presented about the organism's habitat, diet, adaptations, and role in the ecosystem.
  • Addition of interesting facts that are not common to students

2. Presentation Quality (30%):

  • The presentation has been delivered clearly and in an orderly manner
  • The presentation uses different visual elements that make it appealing to the audience and show the creativity of the presenter.

3. Summary and Delivery (20%):

  • The presentation is well delivered and in a confident manner.
  • Effectiveness use of time provided for the presentation.

4. Team Collaboration (10%):

  • Effective teamwork is observed among the members of the group.
