Today, you will embark on a journey to explore the rich history and culture of the Native Mississippians. Through this WebQuest, you will learn about the major tribes, their daily lives, their interactions with Europeans, and their legacy today. Get ready to discover the fascinating world of the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Natchez, and other tribes that once thrived in Mississippi.
Task
Your task is create a presentation that highlights the key aspects of Native Mississippians. You will work in groups to research and present on the following topics:
1. Major tribes and their cultures
2. Mound Building and Ceremonial Sites
3. Daily Life and Economy
4. European Contact and Its Impact
5. Modern-Day Tribes
Each group will create a slide deck with at least 5 slides, one of each topic, and present their findings to the class.
Process
- Form Groups: Each group will consist of designated four students. Each group will be assigned one of the five topics.
- Research: Use the provided resources to gather information about your topic. Make sure to take notes and organize your findings.
