Exploring Habitats

A habitat is the natural home or environment of  where an animal or plant lives. There are sixteen different types of habitats that stretch across the entire world. Most animals and plants can only survive in their natural habitat. In this webquest, you will learn all about the different habitats and about the animals and plants that live within them.

Task

     In this webquest you will be researching habitats and the various animals and vegetation that thrive in those habitats. After you and your partner have done enough research, you will recreate a habitat using a shoe box and various materials to replicate a specific habitat of your choice.

Process

Partner UP

Before you start researching, your teacher will pair you up with one partner. You two will work together to complete this webquest. It is up to you and your partner to decide what habitat you would like to recreate.

Research

Your and your partner will explore the following websites listed below to gather information about the different habitats. You will learn about characteristics of the different habitats such as different types of animals and vegetation that live in them.

Assignment

Project: You and your partner will be required to recreate a habitat that you and your partner have researched.

  6. Artificial shrubs, different colored sands, grasses, and trees

     The rubric given below will be used to grade your final product for the webquest assignment. You can score anywhere from a 3 to a 1 in each area. The expectations of this assignment are very clear and there should be no confusion of what is expected. If you have any questions about your grade please come talk to me in private.
