Exploring the Florida Everglades: Ecosystem and Conservation

Introduction

This lesson incorporates critical thinking, collaboration, and technology integration aligned with FEAP standards.

The Florida Everglades is one of the most unique ecosystems in the world. In this WebQuest you will explore how the everglades functions, why it is important, and the challenges it faces today.

  • How do humans impact this environment?

Learning Objectives:

  • To identify key features of the Everglades ecosystem
  • Analyze human impact on natural environments
  • Apply critical thinking using the method of Bloom's Taxonomy (analyze and evaluate)
Task

You will work in a group to create narrated PowerPoint presentation explaining the Everglades ecosystem and conservation efforts.

Your presentation must consist of:

  • Description of the ecosystem
  • Plants and animals
  • Human impact
  • Solutions to protect the Everglades

Each group member must participate in presenting!

Process

Students will use technology tools and collaborative strategies to enhance learning and engagement.
