Introduction
Exercise is a bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health of your body. Your heart plays a major role in your daily exercise activities. As you exercise your heart beats faster depending on how intense the exercise routine is. Today we will learn about the changes in our heart rate as we complete different activities.
Task
You will pick a partner and you will each take turns doing a list of activities posted on the board. After each activity your partner will take the stethoscope as I have provided and count how many times your heart beats per minute. We have 6 activities presented, so each student should have 6 different heart beats per minute.
Process
To start todays lesson you and your partner will :
1. Pick an open spot on the floor
2. Read all 6 activities on the board, if you have trouble performing this activity please ask for help
3. After all heart rates are recorded you and your partner will take a seat, therefore I will know whose done and whose not done.
4. After doing the activities and recording your heart rates you will write a 1 page paper including what exercise does to the heart. Make sure to include the activities performed, and heart beats you had for that activity. Prove how your results from your activities and your research indicates exercise is good for the heart.
Evaluation
The rubric will be how I evaluate your 1- page paper
