Introduction
This webquest is designed to help students to develop a better understanding of evolution. Through this webquest, students will be able to know how the species are formed.
Evolution is the change in characteristics of a species over several generations and relies on the process of natural selection. The theory of evolution is based on the idea that all species are related and gradually change over time.
Task
You have been appointed to be a life sciences grade 12 presenter. Your job is to stand for all the grade 12 pupils and present to other schools and tell the other students about their origin(evolution). Your task is to create a presentation that you will utilize to deliver the information to the learners about evolution.
You will utilize the following questions to guide you in creating your presentation:
Questions
1. What is evolution?
2. Defining a species
3. Defining Speciation
4. Types of speciations
5. Types of isolation
Process
Learners will be divided into three respecting the rules and regulations of the COVID-19. They will work in triples to create a presentation for learners at the junior level. The aim of the presentation is to educate learners about evolution and how the new species are formed.
Your presentation will be based upon the five questions that was listed in the task section. Please ensure that your presentation is very breathtaking and engaging. You also need to ensure you add crucial information and supporting evidences to your presentation.

All questions answered correctly but moderate attention paid to details and organization. | All questions answered correctly, exemplary attention to details and organization | |
| Use of facts | Incorrect information presented for some aspects of the presentation no real life sciences was included. | Most information presented were based on interesting facts, minimal real life scenarios presented. | Presentation is based on factual information and real life scenarios are presented. | |
| Presentation | Lacks basic information and was somewhat interesting/engaging. | Complete presentation was good, evidence of knowledge of topic and was engaging. | Beyond expectations, exemplary knowledge of topic and entire presentation was engaging and interesting. | |
| Use of language/Grammar | More than 5 grammatical errors | 1-5 grammatical errors | No grammatical errors. |
Conclusion
Congratulations!
You have now reached the end of your quest and I'm hoping that by now you understand what Evolution is and you know all there is to know about evolution.
What is needed of you now is to complete the task given to you by completing your presentation. Ensure you double check your work before presenting, making sure no questions left unattended so the chances of you getting full marks are high.
Go and make sure the other student understand fully what evolution is and how everything evolved.

This webquest was created by Yanelisa Qumayo Kayamandi high School's teacher.
This webquest is useful for learners who are studying life sciences. It provides information about the evolution. This site can be used to give additional or supplementary information on the evolution unit. However, there are some background information students should know under the human evolution
1. Natural Selection
2. Darwinism
3. Creationism
This webquest helps learners to learn individually and gain a researching skill. The webquest was designed to assist learners in understanding what evolution is.
The learners are tasked to do presentation the in the form of power point or informative video. They should give information to help learners understand the evolution better.
To assess the learners success fully, the rubric was created with the different criteria.
