Conclusion

1. The events in Salem started in 1692, however, witch hunts began in Europe between 1300-1330.

2. A few ways to identify a witch is to check for moles, birthmarks, scars, or extra nipples. Furthermore, if you prick the markings on the body and it doesn't bleed, that means you got a witch in your hands. Another is to see if the person is talking to themselves, have pets, or have been married a couple times, that person is definitely a witch.

3. The infamous Salem Witch Trials began during the spring of 1692, after a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. Bridget Bishop was the first to be executed.

4. The Salem Witch Trials ended due to many people feeling that the executions have been getting out of hand. Governor Phips, on October 12, 1692, issued an order to protect prisoners who were being accused of witchcraft. Mainly due to Governor Phip's own wife being accused of being a witch as well.

5.  Some of the myths of the Salem Witch Trials is that the convicted witches were burned. As a matter of fact, most of the executions were done by hanging or being stoned. It is believed that all of the victims were women but there were many men who were blamed for being a follower of Satan. Although gender did play a vital role in the madness. It is also believed that most of the madness took place in Salem when in fact, execution for witchcraft was taking place all over Europe. Most believed that superstition was the driving force for the executions but the truth is religion was a major factor and was more of a driving force than superstition.
