Introduction
Your teacher is going to take you to a foreign country this summer- it can be anywhere in the world .Where would you like to go? And why? You and your classmates will be part of a team that will take over different tasks to promote the country or city you have chosen.
You will have to convince your classmates and teacher that your country/city is the best, the most
interesting and fun place to visit. Good luck!
Task
You will be divided in groups of 4-5 members. Each member will choose a country or city he/she has always wanted to visit and must gather the information needed to promote it. Each of you must prepare a brochure and a cultural fact sheet individually, and a Globster and PowerPoint presentation in group. After the oral presentations, the class will vote the best destination. Break a leg!
Process
STEP 1. In groups of five decide the countries you would like to visit, go to "Resources" in order to find useful links.
STEP 2. Each member should use the links provided to gather information or search for more if necessary in order to prepare a brochure like the one below. This brochure will be necessary later on for the PowerPoint.
STEP 3. As a member of the group each of you will prepare what we call a ‘Country fact-sheet’ , in it you will note down some of the country’s cultural features which will also be very useful for deciding what videos, pictures etc. to use in the Globster later on.
Step 4: In group prepare the Globster, the information you have gathered can help you decide what touristic videos, advertisements, pictures, the country’s national anthem, anything that can be interesting, fun and even unusual to include in it. Try to be original.
Step 5: In group, prepare the PowerPoint- each member must briefly explain why he/she would like to visit that country, so try to be original or make it exciting! Remember each of you presents one country so, we recommend you to learn your part.
Step 6: You can practice the presentation during the first 5 minutes of the session. Present your work in front of the class. When you have finished the class will vote the best place to visit. Have fun!!!
Evaluation
You will be evaluated individually and as a group. Evaluation rubrics will be used for the task. The Webquest is worth 60% of the grade and it will be divided as follows:
