Introduction

Welcome Ms. Merola's class!! Over the next week you will dive into the world of Ancient China by looking into the legacies within their culture. To further your understanding, you will complete a chart demonstrating your knowledge of their culture as well as producing a poster to present to the class on your own culture. During Social Studies this week, you will log into the webquest page (link provided on our class website) and complete the assignments listed using the resources that I have provided. Please also use your textbooks and other websites to complete the assignments. Let's get started and understand the importance of culture!!

Once you have completed this WebQuest you will understand how Ancient China valued their culture and its effect on the rest of the world. You will understand the definition of culture, the culture of Ancient China, and your own personal culture. You will have a greater understanding of culture and its impact on your daily life.

You will have a week to complete the assignments below.

To better your understanding of the Chinese Culture, please read all sections within your textbook relating to that topic. After reading about the Chinese Culture and understanding the definition of culture you can complete the assignments.

After studying about another country's culture and its significance to their daily lives, I want you to dive into your very own culture! What makes you, you? Why is your culture so important to you? 

This assignment will allow you to ask your parents and relatives about your culture and how it has influenced you and your family.

I would like you to create a poster on a 8.5'' by 11'' piece of paper illustrating your culture in the most creative way possible. You can include pictures, drawings, anything that you think will help the class and myself understand your culture and its significance to you. Please have fun with it and be creative!!!

Here are a few basic guidelines for you to follow:

1. Use your first and last name

2. Use pictures and text to share your information about you, your country, and your heritage

3. Be creative. Make it interesting and visually appealing for the class.

4. Create this poster on a 8.5'' by 11'' piece of paper

5. You will present this to the class and myself to help us better understand your culture.
