Eradicating Poverty Issues

Introduction

Lack of resources that can be used to generate revenue and maintain sustainable livelihoods is not the only aspect of poverty. Hunger and malnutrition, restricted access to essential services like education, social marginalization and prejudice, and a lack of involvement in decision-making are some of its expressions. Over 736 million people were living below the global poverty level in 2015. Prior to the pandemic, almost 10% of the world's population struggled to meet their most basic needs, including access to water and sanitation, education, health care, and employment.

No one will be left behind, and the people who are most in need will be reached first, according to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Visionary policies for equitable, sustainable, sustained, and inclusive economic growth are needed to meet this ambitious development goal. These policies must be backed by social integration, falling inequality, rising productivity, full employment and decent work for all, and a supportive environment. Goal 1 of the 2030 Agenda acknowledges that the biggest global issue of our time is eradicating poverty in all of its manifestations and that sustainable development is a prerequisite for achieving this goal. The moment is now to advocate for eradicating poverty!
